One of the most critical gadjets you must have to make the most of this sport is your very own paintball markers. And what better way to do this than to have your very own, custom-made paintball guns? Nope, it’s not complicated or costly either.

The are quite a number of features you might want to consider when deciding to get custom-made paintball guns. Features like the actual size of the barrel, accessories and air system are some , to name a few.. Now, if you try to shop online, you will notice that there are lots of paintball gun manufacturers. Choosing a manufacturer and the type of paintball gun is a hard task.

Do a quick search in some online stores and you will be overwhelmed with the many varieties of custom made guns. You can find Graffiti Series ACI F4, Dragon Intimidator by Bob Long, 68AUTOMAG, Chaos ANS GX-3, Tippman 98, and many others. These guns are the most popular and they usually command a high price because of the quality.

If you prefer the good looking paintball guns, you can choose the Graffiti Series. High accuracy is achieved through this gun because of the Venturi bolt. This bolt reduces ball breakage. Aside from that, the Graffiti Series features expansion chamber and combo barrel.

You can also go for 68AUTOMAG because it’s also among the popular custom made guns. The gun’s power feed has molded grips and valve assembly. If you prefer these requirements, you can choose this paintball gun.

Another good choice is the Dragon Intimidator. This paintball gun by Bob Long has a torpedo or vertical regulator. You can even control trigger travel through the 3 adjustment screws. Aside from that, the gun also has button controls and LCD display.

Still not satisfied? Try ANS GX-3. This gun features jackhammer adjustable regulator, stainless steel ram, and milled shroud. ANS Gen-X manufactured this paintball gun and it is among the best manufacturers in the world for paintball equipments.

One of the most sough-after custom-made paintball guns is one called Tippman 98. What makes it interesting is that you can easily put some add-ons with this one, easily upgradable. Come rain or shine, strong winds and really slippery and under
wet conditions, you won’t have to worry as these types of painball guns can withstand any weather conditions.

These are the custom made paintball guns offered in the market. If you want to know more about these guns, check out their product reviews and customer testimonials. That way, you can tell if it’s the right paintball gun for you. If price is one of your considerations in purchasing paintball guns, make sure that you know the prices of these guns.

Aside from that, you should also compare the guns in terms of accuracy, range, and other factors. You should be a smart shopper and don’t just grab the first custom made paintball gun that you come across. Make sure that you make a wise decision and don’t forget to consider your playing style and the type of game you usually play.

Spend some time playing and renting paintball guns. This is one way to test how the guns feel while you’re in the playing field. Don’t forget to check the various manufacturers of paintball guns so that you can determine the gun’s quality.

It would be quite really obvious ot say that if you were to enjoy the game, paintball guns are a must. With proper planning, you could even score yourself some equipments to make your markers more enjoyable. Shop around if you must. It’ll be worth your time.

Debra Atkins asked:

After a game of paintball it is important to clean your paintball gun or paintball marker as it is also called. The instruction book that came with the gun will help to show you the different parts and how to change these parts. While the paintball guns are made to be very durable, it is common that some of the smaller, working parts may have to be replaced from time to time. And this is a great way to upgrade your parts.

The paintball guns are designed to be able to up grade so the gun can continue to develop and evolve with the abilities of the players. This will help the player by not having to purchase a complete new gun. There are different barrels for the different type of game scenarios. The sniper paintball gun is a good example. With some of the guns you will be able to exchange just the barrels to change the whole make up of the gun, just by the easy exchange of the barrel.

The are a lot of the smaller parts that are essential for the proper working of the gun. Just little items such as the o-rings. The manufactures of the guns do not want you on the side lines, not able to use your gun because of a little part that often times will cost less then a cup of coffee. So they try to keep these available and easy to find. The instruction manual will also show which and what is needed to keep the gun ready to use. This will also give a good idea of what can be up graded.

The paintball gun package is a good choice for the beginning player and the most advanced. For the beginner, parts like to mask and the tanks are often included. But some of the up grades is what the more advanced player will like. Some may include tools, vest and paintball hoppers. All of the packages will differ slightly but most of them will include great up grades.

Keep in mind if you are new to the game that it is important to use the safety equipment. The masks are important to protect the eyes or course, but also the throat needs to be protected also. While the vest helps to carry different supplies and accessories, it also helps to shield us. Do not forget to wear the pads and clothing so you can enjoy the game.

Caffeinated Content

David Wilson asked:

You want a great team building exercise for group? Look no further than the sport of paintball. In recent years, paintball has evolved beyond its somewhat paramilitary-esqe roots.

In fact, today’s paintball games have almost no resemblance to combat sports, with the player wearing brightly colored jerseys, and playing on fancifully construct fields. Instead, paintball has evolved into a fast paced, team oriented sport that can be enjoyed by everyone.

In fact, it is this fast paced, high tension feel that makes it such a team building exercise. Nothing brings people together like a little pressure and competition, and paintball is excellent at creating these feelings in your group. In order to win a game of paintball, your teams must work together, communicate, and be willing to take risks, all great attributes to instill.

Of course, the first thing many worry about when choosing paintball as a team building exercise is the pain involved with getting hit by the paintball. Don’t worry about this. While I’m not going to tell you that getting hit by a paintball traveling at 300 feet per second feels great or anything, but it doesn’t hurt that bad either.

In fact, in the excitement of the game, you’ll feel much more pain from the fact that you got hit and are out of the game than you will because of the pain of the paintball impact. The anticipation of getting hit adds an element of excitement to the game, which you don’t get from many other activities. In short, the impact is nothing to worry about at all.

Another issue with paintball is price. There is no doubt that paintball is expensive. You have to pay the field fee, rent your equipment (if you don’t own any), buy paintballs, and pay for any food or transportation you need. This can add up quite heavily with a large group. However, group rates are available, which can help ease the financial strain a bit. On the bright side, playing is so fun that you may forget all about the price!

When you have your team and assembled, and show up to the field, you will almost certainly go through a safety orientation of some sort. Paintball isn’t that dangerous, but if you aren’t careful, it is possible to get hurt. In particular, you need to keep your goggles on at all time when not in designated safe zones. Also, you need to make sure that your gun isn’t shooting faster then the speed allowed by the field. You will be given your full set of equipment, and instructed on how to use it.

Once all this is done with, you will be taken out by a ref to the field, the rules of the game will be explained, and then you start playing paintball! My number one tip for playing a good game: take risks. Since you’re an inexperienced group of players, most people will tend to sit behind a bunker and wait for the action to happen. If you take the opportunity to be aggressive and move up in the field, you will probably do quite well, as people won’t be prepared for your quick action.

If you’re playing against more experienced players, you won’t be able to do this as well, but with a recreational group, its a brilliant strategy. You also need to work together as a team. That is the point of all this, right? Be sure to communicate, let others on your team know where the players on the other team are. The team who communicates well will have a severe advantage over the team that doesn’t.

I hope this gives you some idea of why and how you use paintball as a great team building activity for your group. Because it appeals to our adventurous side, and forces good teamwork, it is a very effective option for your group development efforts. Call a field near you today.

Caffeinated Content

kevin asked:

The choices can be overwhelming for a paintball beginner.. So, to simplify, there are two main game types: recreational and speedball. You need to know about these to decide the sort of player you want to be and, therefore, what paintball gun features you will need.

Recreational

Recreational markers are used to play paintball games over a large area, often woods or fields. Scenario paintball is played in an area made to replicate a chosen landscape. Woodsball, as the name suggests, is played in a wooded area. Tactical paintball is a strategic game with a variety of rules.

Sniper paintball guns are for recreational players to shoot accurately over long distances. They often have long barrels that can cause the paintball to spin, thus increasing its distance.

Speedball

Speedball paintball guns are used in more confined areas, often utilising bunkers and obstacles. These games are of shorter duration as the players are within close proximity of each other. Camouflage, therefore, isn’t a consideration, so the markers are more visual and come in a wide variety of colours and designs.

X Ball is a type of speedball game for which any standard speedball paintball gun will suffice.

Recreational and speedball markers have the same internal mechanism; the differences are external only. Recreational guns are generally camouflaged or darker in colours. They often resemble real guns; some have been designed to replicate guns from historic battles. Speedball guns are lighter, smaller and more colourful.

You need a paintball gun that fits the sort of player you are e.g. front, cover or sniper. A front player needs a light, easy to handle gun. A cover player needs a big hopper and air supply. A sniper may need a longer barrel with a scope.

Markers can range in price from $50 to over $1000 depending on quality and features. You don’t need to spend too much money on your first paintball gun. You can upgrade it as and when you need to without difficulty. Try renting or borrowing a range of markers before you make a purchase to find one that is suitable for you and feels right.
kevin asked:

1. Don’t rush into buying your gun too quickly. You need to take your time to find out which styles suit you. Try renting or borrowing a range of markers to find out which features are important to you and necessary for the sort of game you want to play. Markers come in a wide variety of types and you need to select one that feels comfortable to you and that fits your specific needs.

2. Don’t spend too much money on your first gun. Prices range from department store at the low end to customized paintball guns, made exactly to someone’s specifications at the high end. The former are not a great quality and the latter are too expensive for anyone other than a pro-player. If you buy a less expensive paintball gun you can upgrade it at a later date without difficulty.

3. Do research on the different types of guns available. You could do this by visiting your nearest paint ball store to see the selection there, use the expertise of the staff and handle the guns. You may not, however, have a store in close proximity and it could turn out to be a time-consuming and costly venture.

4. Do make use of specialized online paintball stores. These sites are a fund of helpful information and the best ones are compiled by experts in the field who are unbiased, well informed and friendly. This way you can browse a wide variety of products and articles in the comfort of your own home to help you determine which gun is best for you.Do make sure there is a money back guarantee if you make a purchase.

5. Do check out the different online paintball package deals; these will include all the basic things you need to get you started at a reasonable price. Most packs will include: a paintball gun, a mask, a hopper (the paintball container on your gun), an air cylinder, a squeegee and a barrel plug. More expensive packages come with additional equipment such as: paintballs, ammo packs and paintball oil.

A paintball gun is the most important and expensive piece of equipment you will use to play paintball. Don’t rush into a purchase, educate yourself on the different types of guns available and decide what sort of player you want to be.

choosing a Paintball Gun

Create a video blog

Corey Palmer asked:

Paintballs are ball like capsules of gelatin containing polyethylene glycol and water soluble, non-toxic substances and dye. These basically are used in a game, paintball, in which participants out do the opposition by shooting with these paintballs from a powdered marker of compressed gas. These are commonly referred to as the paintball guns.

Paintballs are the brainchild of the Nelson Paint Company. It indeed was an invention that arose from the need to mark trees in the forests. Besides, these were also used for marking cows by cattlemen. Later, when a couple of friends used these paintballs as a survival game, it indeed turned to be the sport that we know as paintball today.

Since paintball uses paintball guns, certain safety precautions are an absolute must. However, when the rules are followed stringently, the probability of an accident is as low as 0.2 out of perhaps a thousand exposures.

The very first rule to be strictly observed is to wear the paintball helmet religiously, which is called the protective Google system. This is because, though according to the safety rules, the velocity of the balls should not be any greater than 300 feet every second, playing near beginners might cause fatal injuries. Besides this, the barrel stopping device is a must use. This ensures that even if the gun is accidentally fired, the stopping device checks paintball from getting fired. Players get eliminate when the paintball fired by the opponent break due to an impact and leave a mark of paint on them. A player can also ask for the opponent to surrender when he is within ten to fifteen feet distance before the player fires the paintball at him.

Paintball like every other game has its own set of unique accessories that set the game apart and add a new charm to it. The spyder paintball guns by Kingman Paintball are a brand name that needs no introduction to connoisseurs of the accessories and the players who are actively in to the game. As for that matter, they are nothing new to anyone who follows the game closely.

Spyder paintball guns are available in various models to suit both your requirement and your pocket. They not only are a must have accessory for the top and the want to be players because of the recoil capacity or the speed that they impart or the fact that it is tough to miss a target with them, but also because they look real cool as gadgets and are sure to turn heads and win you applause. And perhaps that very applause can give you the confidence that you require to win each game.

So, if you really are interested in paintball, then get geared up to get the coolest of accessories and turn the game really interested for you and the rest of the people- the players and the spectators. And perhaps the most interesting of the options is a spyder paintball gun which will set you apart from the rest on the field. Enjoy!

Caffeinated Content

kevin asked:

Tippmann paintball guns are amongst the most popular in the market due to their quality, durability, reliability and ease of use. The best players recommend these markers because they help them win. There is a wide range of Tippmann paintball guns to choose from. This article will clarify important differences between the models and highlight their unique features.

Tipmann designed the first Tipmann paintball gun the SMG60. Hot on its heels came the semi-automatic 68-Special which could contain up to 40 paintballs. Here is a breakdown of the Tippmann paintball guns available today.

The Alpha Black, or Army Alpha Black, is the newest model.

The 98 Custom is a the popular choice of the players. It has a clam-shell design which can be dismantled for easy cleaning and maintenance.

The Custom Pro is an upgraded model of the 98. It has a double trigger, a drop-forward and is scratch resistant.

The A-5 has a new, innovative loading concept- the cyclone feed. This enables the marker to have a higher rate of fire, a maximum of 15 balls per second, without using after market loaders. Rotating arms in the hopper move the paintballs into the firing chamber. It is one of the most easily upgradeable of the Tippmann paintball guns and is considered to be the best one in the field.

The X-7 has a soft paddle cyclone feed and can fire up to 20 balls per second. It is an upgraded, heavier, more modern version of the A-5. It has a response trigger and an E-grip.

The C-3 runs on propane, the first of its kind. It has a 16 ounce propane tank containing up to 50 000 shots. It is safe and maintains a consistent pressure.

The Triumph marker is one of the more compact and lightweight of the Tippmann paintball guns. It comes in 3 models: XL, XT and EXT. They have a double trigger, center feed neck, in-line bolt system and a 200 gravity feed round hopper.

The TPX is the most recent pistol. It uses a magazine inserted into the grip rather than CO2 cartridges and is, therefore, a lighter weight.

Tippmann paintball guns have a reputation for reliability and are favoured by players of all levels. Their quality and durability should ensure that you get the best out of the sport.

Hawksbill Paintball was established by players, for players. Our goal is to give you the products you need to enjoy the sport of paintball. We have low prices and fast shipping and promise the best customer service you can find anywhere.
kevin asked:

What makes a good paintball? Why are some paintballs more expensive than others? Do I have to pay a lot of money for good quality ammo? These are questions that vex paintballers, particularly those new to the sport. Let’s address these issues to enable you to buy wisely.

Do more expensive paintballs perform better than cheaper ones?

In a word: yes. More expensive ammo has tighter quality control regulations than its cheaper rivals. Paintballs vary considerably in quality and you should expect to pay more to enhance your performance.

How do paintballs vary in quality?

Quality ammunition is more consistent and reliable. It resists the affects of humidity and moisture. This results in better performance in extreme conditions. Quality paintballs will be less likely to shrink or swell in extremes of temperature.

Good ammo is strong enough to withstand expulsion from the gun without exploding; it is thin enough to burst on impact, and not before.

Good quality paintballs have a better paint fill, so the paint is brighter in colour and it marks well. It is washable, yet less easy to wipe off on the field.

Good paintballs are more spherical resulting in a straighter trajectory, greater distance and more accuracy.

Where can I buy good, cheap paintballs?

Many people buy ammo at their local field for convenience. This, however, is not a cheap option. There are many different brands of good quality, inexpensive paintballs to be found online. This is, by far, the cheaper option. Take your own ammunition to your local field; if they charge you for the privilege, it is still worth it. If they don’t allow you to use your own ammo, find another field!

How should I store my paintballs?

You should always store your ammunition in a cool, dry place; between 60-85 degrees is ideal, with as little humidity as possible. Paintballs do not have an indefinite shelf-life. They will develop flat spots if left too long which will affect their trajectory. Try to ensure a regular turn over of balls.

In short, there are numerous brands of paintballs available to you on the market. They vary in quality. You must expect to pay more for higher quality ammo. You can buy good quality paintballs online for a good price. Keep them in a cool, dry place and change your stock regularly.

Choosing the right paintball for your marker can affect your performance on the field greatly. Try out small quantities of different brands to see what you get on best with. Match your barrel size to the correct paintball size. Don’t compromise on price; you only get what you pay for.

Hawksbill Paintball

Hawksbill Sports was established by players, for players.
kevin asked:

Sniper paintball guns are used by recreational players who want a gun that shoots accurately over a long distance. Recreational games are played over large areas including woods and fields.; they have several variants.

Scenario paintball is played in an area which replicates a chosen landscape.

Tactical paintball has a variety of rules and rewards strategic play.

Woodsball paintball is played in a wooded area.

So, what are the features of a sniper marker?

Recreational guns, including sniper paintball guns, have similar internal operations. They are generally dark in colour or camouflaged. They are often designed to look like real guns. They are bigger and heavier than guns used in speedball games.

Sniper paintball guns often have longer barrels than other gun types. To increase the firing distance, some barrels have a texture that causes the paintball to spin. Most barrels have rails on top of them. This allows you to fit a scope so you can have your target in a more precise line of sight. This is ideal for a sniper player covering a long distance. You can also fit a red dot laser light to the rail to add to the realism of the scenario.

Sniper paintball guns should have an adjustable stock allowing them to fit against your shoulder comfortably. The adjustable stock will enable it to be moved into the right position for you. The sniper gun is big and heavy, so it also needs a comfortable grip. Many guns have a pistol grip rather than fit your hand like a rifle. You need to choose a grip that feels right for you.

Sniper paintball guns don’t need big hoppers/loaders or a large air supply. Some players enjoy the classic pump action markers that need to be re-cocked after each shot. Other sniper markers are either fully or semi-automatic enabling you to take repeated multiple shots at your target. Some guns have a ramping feature that switches the gun from one setting to another depending on how you pull the trigger.

Some cartridges can hold 100 paintballs, others may only hold 20 rounds. You need to reload less often with a cartridge that holds a lot of ammo making your reaction time quicker.

One of the most exciting positions in the paintball game is that of the sniper. Game strategies vary with each opponent and their positioning. Good sniper paintball guns make a great difference to a player’s success. Paintball supplies on the market allow you to upgrade any standard paintball marker into a sniper rifle, which is a good way of keeping the costs down.

Caffeinated Content

kevin asked:

Paintball safety is an important consideration to anyone involved in the sport. According to statistics comparing serious injuries sustained across a number of sports, paintball is one of the safest sports you can play. This is probably a surprise to most people. As there is no direct contact between players, you are 19 times less likely to be injured playing paintball than American Football, for example. Another reason for the encouraging paintball safety statistics is that there is an important emphasis on wearing the right safety gear.

The number of injuries may well be low in comparison with other sports, but they can be severe. It is not much fun to be struck on any unprotected part of the body by a paintball travelling at 300 feet per second. We must always keep in mind the paintball safety precautions that we need to take to ensure an injury free session.

1. Wear the Right Gear

You must always wear your goggles or mask; you need to protect your eyes and ears from paintball damage. It is sensible to invest in a mask customized with ear flaps, and visor to give protection from sunlight. Ideally, the mask should cover the whole head to avoid being struck on any sensitive area.

Padded paintball suits give extra built in protection to vulnerable areas such as the neck and chest. It’s a good idea to invest in extra protective equipment like boxes and collars to increase your paintball safety.

2. Watch Your Speed

The regulated paintball speed to be observed by all players is 300 feet per second in outdoor play. All protective gear is tested up to this limit. Any ball striking the skin above this speed will greatly increase the chance of serious injury. Chronographs are worth the investment if you are playing in private fields. In indoor play, 200 feet per second is adequate for paintball safety.

3. Show Sportsmanship and Courtesy

Blind firing is when you shoot randomly without seeing a target. This is dangerous as you can’t see what you’re firing at so you risk shooting someone at point blank. Have an awareness of where you’re shooting before you fire.

You should be cautious when it comes to overshooting, although there are no rules against it. It is unnecessary to fire 10-20 consecutive shots at a person after you’ve already made a successful hit. If the rules don’t call for you to overshoot to win, avoid it as a courtesy to other players.

You can offer your opponent a chance to surrender if he is within 10-15 feet away by shouting, “Surrender.” He can walk away with his arms raised or refuse to surrender, in which case you can shoot him. It shows sportsmanship to allow your opponent the chance to walk away and improves their safety.

Paintball safety is of paramount importance to enjoying the sport. The majority of injuries happen in private fields where there is often a lower level of investment in paintball safety equipment. To avoid serious injury, you would be wise to play in regulated paintball centers and observe the pointers above.

Paintball Safety Tips

Caffeinated Content
